The ModWing, sometimes referred to as a 'claw' is an optional accessory for IWB holsters. The purpose of the ModWing is to increase concealment by pushing the grip of your handgun up against your body.
We no longer include the ModWing with our IWB holsters for a variety of reasons:
1) Because we primarily make holsters for compact handguns, many of our customers did not need and were not using the ModWing. Shorter grip handguns usually don't benefit much from the ModWing.
2) With the price of everything going up, we decided to not include the ModWing rather than raise the prices of our holsters. Why make everyone pay for an accessory many customers were not using in the first place. We do offer ModWings as an optional accessory.
If you want to use the ModWing, remove the two retention bolts on the side of the holster. Align the ModWing over the holes in the holster and replace the bolts with the 3/4” bolts that were included with the ModWing package. Then you can install a tall or short ‘claw’, if desired, or use it without a ‘claw’ piece. It’s up to you.
The ModWing does make it harder to insert or remove the holster from your waistband. Try out a variety of options to find what works best for you.
